A Pink Wall + How I Relieve Stress #OOTW

Yay for Pink Walls

When Marcos (the bf) noticed the new hot pink wall, down from our favorite coffee shop in Downtown, Fresno we jumped at the #OOTD opportunity–like any enthusiastic fashion blogger would. We were excited to get first dibs on probably one of many, photo shoots that will be taking place here. Whoever painted this pink wall most likely knew it would get instant fame, or maybe they didn’t. I think the daily struggle of any blogger is figuring out where to shoot. You don’t realize how difficult it is to create content, until you actually do it. However, we keep doing it because we have the ability to, with only a camera and imagination. This blog has been one of my ultimate stress relievers recently.

Lately, I have been against the wall (no pun intended) on whether I should jump into my Master’s degree post-college. If I do decide to do my Master’s I will spend my fall semester filling out applications; if I apply for #BigGirl jobs already, I’ll probably be doing the same. While it’s great to have these choices upon me, I can’t help but be nervous for what is head. If you are in my situation then let me be the one to tell you, I feel you. You my friend, are not alone.

Here are some of my tips to put you in a better thinking place:

1.  Treat Yourself and a Friend to a Coffee Date

Everyone knows the “we are too busy” drill, and the perfect excuse to stay hidden inside our cave. We distance ourselves from the friends that care about us, without even realizing it. Lately, I have allowed myself to have some time with friends, and I couldn’t be happier. We will spend hours at the coffee shop playing board games and laughing about silly things.

2. Don’t Stress Over Something That Hasn’t Happened Yet

Our minds are so amazing at creating scenarios that haven’t occurred yet. We envision the possibly worst event that could happen. There is no use in driving ourselves up the pink wall (see what I did there). Just know that there is always a solution, because you are in control of your life.

3. Create a Project for Yourself

As some of you may know, I am a freelance writer so I’m used to creating creative content for many brands. While I enjoy working with so many different brands and brushing up on my skills, I also have my own story to tell. This blog has made it possible for me to share what I desire. The other day I was taking pictures for this blog, while listening to music, and I had the best time.

4. Write Things Down

My brain can’t function without a pen and paper. If you guys were to see my desk right now, you would notice the sticky note mess I have. Growing up means multi-tasking on 100 + projects at once. Don’t try to be the stubborn person, who thinks they can have an internal planner. I was that person, and I recently found out that it’s better to have a tangible planner. I currently own two planners, one for my blog, and one for school–they are life savers!
